After honing his skills on stages in Medicine Hat, Alberta from 2009 - 2016 Jay decided to make the move to Calgary Alberta where he now resides. He travels as a one man band playing multiple instruments at once or with his five piece band or with his duo with bandmate Brady Enslen as "Enslow". Jay owns and operates Rock Water Recording Studio here in Calgary where he records and produces his own and others albums. He has been touring and performing for over 10 years and has released two full length albums with the newest to come in the spring of 2018. The soon to be released album "Chidult" is self produced and includes a roster of fantastic players from the Calgary and Lethbridge area. His most recent release "Morning Sky Blues" was produced by Lethbridge's Leeroy Stagger and contains 10 heartfelt originals that encapsulate the soul and grit of living in a middle class world. His music is heavily influenced by country greats such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Steve Earle, John Prine, Jackson Browne and many others. An avid music lover, Jay has done his homework and is constantly keeping his eye out for new influences that pop up on the musical landscape. Jay has shared the stage with some acclaimed artists such as, Ed Kowalczyk (of Live), Glass Tiger, Leeroy Stagger, Attack in Black and many others.
